Principal's message
शिक्षा का अर्थ केवल पुस्तकीय ज्ञान को अर्जित कर, रट्टा लगाकर परीक्षा में अच्छे अंकों के साथ उत्तीर्ण होना नहीं है। अपने व्यापक संदर्भों में शिक्षा अर्जित करने का अर्थ जीवन भर चलने वाली उस सतत प्रक्रिया से जुड़ जाना है जिसके माध्यम से व्यक्ति अपने अनुभवों, परिवेश, समाज और जीवन की परिस्थितियों से सीखता है तथा अपने व्यक्तित्व का समग्र विकास करता है। इस सतत प्रक्रिया में ही सृजनात्मकता के बीज भी छुपे होते हैं।
मुझे प्रसन्नता है कि हमारे कॉलेज के विद्यार्थी न केवल शैक्षणिक गतिविधियों में बल्कि साहित्यिक और रचनात्मक गतिविधियों में भी सक्रिय रूप से भाग ले रहे हैं। कॉलेज पत्रिका का प्रकाशन विद्यार्थियों को अपने विचारों, अनुभवों और रचनात्मक अभिव्यक्तियों को साझा करने का एक महत्वपूर्ण मंच प्रदान करता है। इस प्रक्रिया से उनके भीतर लेखन, चिंतन और अभिव्यक्ति की क्षमता का विकास होता है, जो उनके व्यक्तित्व निर्माण में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाता है।
इस विशेष अंक को महिलाओं के विषय पर केंद्रित करना अत्यंत सार्थक और प्रेरणादायक पहल है। यह हमें उन महान महिलाओं के संघर्ष और उपलब्धियों की याद दिलाता है जिन्होंने अपने साहस, प्रतिभा और समर्पण से समाज को नई दिशा दी। साथ ही यह वर्तमान पीढ़ी को भी यह संदेश देता है कि समाज की प्रगति तभी संभव है जब महिलाओं को समान अवसर, सम्मान और सुरक्षा प्राप्त हो। यह पत्रिका न केवल विद्यार्थियों की सृजनात्मक प्रतिभा का परिचायक है, बल्कि समाज में महिलाओं की भूमिका, संघर्ष, उपलब्धियों और सशक्तिकरण के प्रति जागरूकता का भी सशक्त माध्यम बनेगी। यह पत्रिका महिलाओं के विविध आयामों, उनकी संवेदनाओं, संघर्षों, उपलब्धियों और समाज में उनके योगदान को सामने लाने का एक सराहनीय प्रयास है।
मैं इस पत्रिका (दस्तक - DASTAK) के संपादन और प्रकाशन में लगे सभी विद्यार्थियों, शिक्षकों और सहयोगियों को हार्दिक बधाई देता हूँ। मुझे विश्वास है कि यह प्रयास विद्यार्थियों के भीतर सृजनात्मकता और सामाजिक संवेदनशीलता को और अधिक प्रोत्साहित करेगा तथा भविष्य में भी इस प्रकार की साहित्यिक गतिविधियाँ निरंतर जारी रहेंगी।
अंत में, अंतरराष्ट्रीय महिला दिवस के इस महत्वपूर्ण अवसर पर मैं सभी छात्राओं, शिक्षकों और समाज की प्रत्येक महिला को हार्दिक शुभकामनाएँ देता हूँ।

About the magazine
Dastak is the first College magazine published by LND College since its inception in the year 1966. Publication of Dastak marks an important milestone. As a college family, over the recent years, the College have striven to foster an academic and creative dialogue among the students. The magazine's quarterly publication will provide us with the desired platform to promote a discursive dialogue among the various stakeholders of the College. In an era dominated by artificial agency and data science, the art of writing and creativity is always under threat. This magazine, a result of the LND College Book Club, has made efforts to promote critical thinking, creativity and teamwork. From our cover page design to the book review, from poetry to short stories, we have tried to promote creativity, inclusiveness and analytical thinking. In forthcoming issues, we will engage with Environment, Science, Art, History, Literature etc.
The maiden edition of the magazine is dedicated to the diverse challenges and remarkable stories of triumph and resilience of Women. The College is proud to unveil the maiden edition of the magazine on the occasion of International Women's Day. In an era which celebrates and valorises masculinity to the brink of toxicity, in an era which is witness to the rise of unprecedented war crimes against women, in an era where patriarchy continues to consolidate its dominance under the garb of progress and development, discourse on women and their essential problems remains central to overall growth and progress as a society.
Most importantly, this magazine became a medium of interaction with many students, who otherwise would have remained hidden among countless unknown faces. The magazine became a platform to interact with many young minds with exceptional talent in painting, writing, design and organisation.
