About this Piece

This biography chronicles the life of Uda Devi, a courageous warrior from the Pasi community during the 1857 Revolt. After losing her husband in battle, she disguised herself as a man and famously killed over a dozen British soldiers from atop a tree in Sikandar Bagh.
